You have set the date. You get your buddies to join you for this camping weekend. But you are not sure what to prepare?
Here are the things to bring:
1. Camping Tents
There are different types of tents and sizes. Find the one that best fit your need and number of pax. Make sure it is sturdy to withstand the rain and wind. Get extra pegs, just in case. One good place to buy a tent is from Decathlon.
2. Sleeping Bag
Provide some padding when you are sleeping on the tent ground. For more comfort, you can get an inflatable air mattress or pillow. Make sure you are equipped with an air pump as well.
3. A Jacket
The weather can get surprisingly cooling at night especially when you are by the beach. Or when it rains. Just pack along a jacket just in case.
4. Portable Light Source
It can get pretty dark at night, you will need a camping light to hang in the tent for visibility. A torchlight or a head lamp will be useful too. Do bring along extra batteries. For a mood setter, you can get battery operated fairy lights and hang it around the tent.
5. Portable Charger
There is no electrical point when you are out with nature. Make sure you fully charged your portable chargers for your phones so you can continue taking beautiful photo memories! Bring along a portable speaker for entertainment purposes.
6. Shampoo & Toiletries
Most of the camping sites in Singapore provide a 24 hour access toilets and showering facilities. However, you do need to bring your own set of toiletries. Pack it from home and save the trouble of finding shops to purchase it. Bring along talcum powder, in case you won’t be able to shower. Don't forget your tissue paper and we tissues!
7. Insect Repellent
It's inevitable to not encounter any insects while camping. Be prepared and keep you and your family safe from the mosquitos and sandflies. Buy mosquito coils and placed them outside of the tent.
8. Food & Drinks
It is important to stay hydrated, especially in the hot weather. Pack some light food such as sandwiches, puffs, cakes etc The snacks will come in handy in case of any midnight cravings. And do your part for the environment too! It’s great to be spending time with nature but it's more important to keep the environment clean. Pack up any leftover food and use trash bags to throw away any unwanted food and rubbish.
